Music….Best discovery of humanity!!

Music, a discovery of humanity that everybody likes. How to define music has long been the subject of debate; philosophers, musicians, and, more recently, various social and natural scientists have argued about what constitutes music. I personally would define music as that thing which will accompany us in our everyday life; helping us through different moods…it's that thing which mentally affects us, making us get into a world of our own. The word music comes from the Greek word mousikê (tekhnê). It is ultimately derived from mousa, the Greek word for muse. In ancient Greece, the word mousike was used to mean any of the arts or sciences governed by the Muses. Later, in Rome, ars musica embraced poetry as well as instrument-oriented music. In the European Middle Ages, musica was part of the mathematical quadrivium: arithmetics, geometry, astronomy and musica. The concept of musica was split into four major kinds by the fifth century philosopher, Boethius: musica universalis, musica humana, musica instrumentalis, and musica divina. Of those, only musica instrumentalis referred to music as performed sound.

People might think music was invented, but music was actually discovered. A long, long time ago, people, that do experiments learned to hear if sounds were high or low, quiet or loud, fast or slow, soft or sharp, and so on. They began to put sounds together in different ways by making new instruments and experimenting with singing. Eventually different cultures developed unique ways of creating music and then writing it down so they could pass it along to others. Today we have technology that allows us to record and share all the beautiful music from around the world. Music has so many genres; everybody has his own tastes and his own opinion of a specific genre. Sometimes, a specific type of genre is heard for the mean while because he/she thinks this type of music will change his/her mood or will make him/her feel better. The main genres of music are Classical, Rock, Pop, Hip Hop or Rap, Jazz, Alternative, country, RnB, soul and then there are sub-genres like metal or rock ballads, love songs etc...

Music that we hear passes through so much before it is ready to be sold or played, but it's all worth it, because at the end…SO MUCH MONEY IS MADE…
Music became heard more often during the 19th century, but I'm pretty sure if people make a data base of the music heard, the period between 1970-present would be the highest...Music started coming up with new styles, I would sometimes think to myself, how come there is no end to lyrics. The most type of music heard these days is Pop and Hip Hop. Music can be done by bands or solo singers…bands are mainly for rock.
Musicians throughout their career aim to make really good, successful songs so that it could get a good rank in the US Billboard and to get other awards. Songs that have a good rank and are loved worldwide, get awards and trophies. The main music award is the WMA (World Music Award). Some singers are so good they win more than one WMA in a year.

Some people refer to music as the best friend of the ear, I agree to that, because to me, music is a second grade priority in my everyday life.
