'17 FEBRUARY'

Libya ‘The revolution’

LIBYAN AND PROUD

TAHA K.KAWAN - GRADE 10 A –I.S.M

It is obvious that it needs hundreds if not thousands of lines to write about this epic (17 feb. revolution) but I will try to brief it in 20 lines as required.

In a day when u are asked about your nationality and you answer by saying Libyan , the one who asked you will directly respond by saying aah !! Gaddafi , but if anyone asked you know the one who asked will think for a while and say ‘ I am really pleased and proud to talk with the most brave and well reputed people’ as known in the world after our great revolution . This is the whole issue why the Libyan people come out and fought against the former regime.

The Libyan former regime was one of the most hematic and despotic regimes ever seen , as I ‘ve said before it will need me hundreds if not thousands of words to talk about the dictatorial regime lead by ‘killer Gaddafi’. ...

The spark of the Libyan revolution started from the eastern part of Libya , where people demonstrated from the 15th of February in Benghazi ,Albaeda, Darna and Tobrok , In the 20th of February the voice of people who cheers against the regime spread to reach Tripoli the Libyan capital .After a few days people became armed with weapons in Benghazi after the liberation of the city ,meanwhile the revolution took another route towards the armed confrontations which lasted tell the liberation of Libya on the 23 of October 2011. During these 8 months the N.T.C had been formed and the NATO intervened in Libya by a commission from the UNITED NATIONS ,this all cost the Libyan people thousands of martyrs and more and more of injuries and widows , this is all to remove Gaddafi’s regime which lasted for 42 years and the time came to a happy ending for the Libyan people and a tragedian ones to Gaddafi and his family.

One message to the Libyan people ‘NEVER FORGET THAT THE ROVOLUTION WAS TO REMOVE A DECTATOR NOR PLACING ANOTHER ONCE’
