The portrait of Monalisa is also known as La Gioconda ( the wife of Francesco del
Giocondo). This portrait is my favorite from Leonardo Divinci’s work . It
attracts people because of leonardo’s technique of soft , heavily shaded
modeling .The figure of a woman dressed in the florentine fashion for her day
and seated in a visionary , mountainous landscape makes you look deep inside
the drawing and imagine yourself in a different world . The history of this
panel has been discussed so many times although it remains unknown they said
that the subject is a young florentine woman who married the well-known
Francesco del Giocondo .Leonardo loves the portrait so much that he was
carrying it around with him everywhere until eventually it was sold .It was
greatly admired and much copied, and it came to be considered the prototype of
the Renaissance portrait…
