Based on a through story "Julie and Julia" is a comedy-drama film that was released in 2009. It joins the story of the lives of two women who are separated by time and areas although are joined by their passion for cooking.
Julie Powell(played by Amy Adams) is a 30-year-old woman living in an apartment in Queens, she is unsatisfied in addition to that she thinks she has hit a dead end and is going in a no good direction with her secretarial job. The only time she is truly herself is in the kitchen, where everything has precise measurements and results. She feels that her life needs variation because it seems tedious.
Retrospectively, Julia Child (played by Meryl Streep) has also felt that she need to find her goal in life. She began several lessons of different subjects before realizing she had a passion for cooking. Many people suspected her chances of becoming a true chef but she became stubborn and proved them all wrong.
Julie Powell started a cooking blog where she used Julia Child's 1961 classic "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" that she stole from her mother. The challenge consists of cooking 524 recipes in 365 days. Many people doubted her but she ignored the the pessimism and continued in following her dreams. She encountered many obstacles from family issues to work problems but passed through them all and accomplished her dream. Commencing, the blog had no positive reaction but then had a huge public response. The media had become interested in her work and her dedication.
Back in time, Julia Child has ignored everyone and had rose after every fall. She had problems in publishing her book,but eventually accomplished her dream. She is one of the most known chefs that introduced genuine cooking to the world.
In the end both Julie and Julia had achieved their dreams.
This story proves that if you set your mind on your dreams, you will accomplish them. All you need to have is a little patience and hard work.
