Why the Blog is a TERRIBLE idea

Common sense and studies shows that when people are obliged to do a job they will automatically hate it and won’t spend time nor effort doing it and in return the result won't be as required or reach the standers .
All I am saying is that the whole idea is not practical for both sides as I believe you won’t like to spend your holiday reading some crap (no offence to anyone) nor us as it feels like a huge weight on our shoulders that no matter how hard we try to get rid of it and take it off our minds it will always be there poking us and believe it or not no matter how hard we think, we are always out of ideas for the next post (well I don’t know about you guys but it happens to me).
I suggest that we vote or at least minimize the number and it will sure be a nice Christmas present for all of us and a nice way to end the year and beside most of us did not even post twice so it won’t be a problem and think about it what the student would feel when he finally persuaded himself to log on to the block so he can start the next one and would find this letter saying that the number of posts have been MINIMIZED.
I know that the whole conversation have been mostly directed to the teacher but that’s the point and hopefully she would put it in mind.

Tuesdays With Morrie

''Tuesdays with Morrie'' is a humble although satirical explicit story by the American best-selling author Mitch Albom. The book was published on 1997 and archives the time Mitch Albom spent with his professor, the book rose to the New York Times bestseller's list on October the 27th 1997 and climbed it's way to number one six months later. This exhilarating book lasted 205 weeks as number one and sold about 14 millıon copies and was translated in about 41 languages.

This true story captures the essence of life in a whole new perspective.Every individual has someone to rely and count on for guidance in addition to assistance. It can be anyone from a family member or friend to teacher or colleague. Mitch Albom depends on his prudent sociology professor Morrie Schwartz.

Mitch album had a flashback,a reminiscence of his graduation from Brandeis University in the spring of 1979.He presents his sociology professor a monogrammed briefcase as a gift and promises his thrilled professor who's weeping that they will remain in contact but fails to accomplish his promise.Their relationship was like a father and son and judicious Morrie always had sensible advice available.

They were accustomed to meet every Tuesday to negotiate problems regarding life in addition to it's bizarre ways.Years past and Mitch didn't contact Morrie .As his uncle has passed away due to having pancreatic cancer Mitch abandoned his unsuccessful career as a musician and started to work as a journalist for a Detroit newspaper. On the other hand Morrie has to give up his hobby as a result of having a terminal disease named ALS ''a progressive degeneration of the motor neurons of the central nervous system leading to wasting of muscles and paralysis'' . Mitch thinks about how frustrating life is while he changes television channels he recognizes Mitch's voice and watches as Morrie appears on the television show ''Nightline'' and expresses his view of life with this illness and how it has affected him.Mitch decides to meet Morrie and flies from Detroit to West Newton in Massachusetts to meet Morrie who is overjoyed to see him after all this time. They catch up on what each of them missed and continue their weekly conversations as if they were never separated.

Mitch remains frustrated when he finds out that the article he worked so diligently on wasn't being published because of the union he belongs to is striking against the newspaper he works for.

Morrie and Mitch meet regularly on Tuesdays as if it were old times.Morrie had a hard and excruciating childhood, his mother passed away when he was eight and he and his little brother remained with their father,Charlie.Morrie had no emotional support from his father. His father remarried a woman named Eva and Charlie prohibited Morrie to speak of his mother as he wanted Morrie's brother to think Eva was his real mother. The only thing Morrie has from his mother was a telegram which he held on to all his life.Mitch has a problem with his brother who lives in Spain and refuses to talk to him and wants to fight his pancreatic cancer alone but calls Mitch only to tell him that he's fine.Although Morrie points out that this situation will turn around which after his death proves to be correct.

They meet weekly on Tuesdays to discuss life and it's predicaments and how they can defeat the obstacles to remain at peace inspite of that Morrie's health is deteriorating each week. They tape their conversations and make notes because Morrie requests that Mitch writes a book on these brief discussions.Mitch keeps his promise and writes this motivational and inspirational book with fascinating clarity and natural simplicity.

The Pursuit of Happyness

Inspired by a true story, The Pursuit of Happyness is a biographical drama film based on the struggles a man and his son have with homelessness. It features Will Smith as Chris Gardner, an intelligent yet unemployed salesman, struggling to financially survive on the streets of San Francisco, as well as Jaden Smith who co-stars alongside his father, portraying the role of Christopher Jr., Chris’s endearing 5 year-old son.

Set in the early 80’s, the movie tells a motivating yet often emotionally wrenching story about Chris Gardner, a man who heavily invests his family's savings on portable bone-density scanners he unfortunately fails in persuading doctors to purchase. As a result, this financially breaks his family apart which leads to his wife, Linda leaving him alone to care for his son Christopher Junior. Chris is later set back even further when his bank account is garnished due to his failure of paying fines and taxes, causing him and his young son to be evicted. Consequently, they are left out on the streets with nowhere to go, sleeping in shelters for the homeless and at one point are even forced to spend the night in a bathroom at a subway station, which I found was one of the most emotionally distressing scenes of the entire movie.

Whilst going through all these difficulties, Chris also struggles to train for a stockbroker internship job he is straining to get. He desperately studies day and night, keen on getting the job along with a roof to place over his head.

I personally consider The Pursuit of Happyness as an extremely inspirational film that never fails to emotionally move me every time I watch it. In my opinion, Will Smith’s heart-touching character is, hands down, the best thing about the movie as he turns in a raw and heart-rending performance as a man who struggles to give his child the quality life that escaped him while fighting in the pursuit of protecting his dreams.

Nevertheless the movie does result in a happy ending as Chris, chosen out of 20 others, is offered the job and eventually after time goes on to form his own multi-million dollar brokerage firm. This proves that in spite of the setbacks and complications he has gone through, he surmounts a lack of education, stubborn naysayers and homelessness, overcoming all the obstacles he is forced to face in life, to finally turn out to be more successful than he ever dreamt of becoming. This motivating film, based on a true story, definitely changed my personal outlook on life in so many ways as it made me more grateful and appreciative for the life that I already have. Overall I believe that The Pursuit of Happyness is by far and without a doubt, one of my favourite movies of all time.

FRIENDS

Friends, for us, it is the most important thing in the world. We the juniors are like a family even we are not blood related to each other. I’ve been with them for only six years but they’ve made an unforgettable mark in my heart. We conquered lot of challenges together, we even help each other with our personal problems, and Teachers in our school even told us that we are the worst students in the whole school but we ignored it because what they don’t know is that we are the most loving, caring, understanding, and fun students. Our batch is different from others because we have this bond that we have. Every one of us loves our bond like no any other things. I can’t forget the times that we eat together, laugh together, and cry together. We even help each other to get a girlfriend or boyfriend (lol).Man you should see us back then when we get in trouble because of that.
We even have this Moto, we call it the juniors quote :
Right now we are in our own separated ways, and I know they are happy with their own lives right now. Even though I’m miles away from them, I will never forget that I have friends that i trust waiting in my hometown Philippines. Junior’s batch 2k10-2k11 I miss you guys!

Quote of the week 4

"I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me."

- Issac Newton

This was one of Newton's final quotes before he died. Newton was a man of exceptional intelligence and very humble origin. The great ocean of truth is what lies beyond death according to Newton. I like this quote because of the simple and comforting tone it provides towards death.

Quote of the week 3

"Strategy is the art of making use of time and space. I am less concerned about the latter than the former. Space we can recover lost time never."

- Napoleon Bonaparte

For those of you who aren’t aware, Napoleon was a B.A.M.F. (Bad Ass Mother F-----). At the mere age of twenty seven he was beginning his campaigns against Italy and eventually conquering them. He was a strategic military genius and he was only around five feet four inches tall. Napoleon also reformed much of France’s political and economic structure when he had become emperor. He instituted the Legion of Honor which is still the most esteemed military decoration in France. The “Napoleon” complex or Short Man syndrome of psychology is inspired by his personality; apparently Napoleon was aggressive towards those who were taller or larger than himself. After noting down that this short genius made his own civil code, led military expeditions when he was only a young man, he’s also noted as an inspiration for a specific concept in psychology, and they named a dessert after him. To conclude I think it’s fair to state that Napoleon was a historically valid B.A.M.F.

Quote of the week 2

“Pain and suffering are always inevitable for a large intelligence and a deep heart. The really great men must, I think, have great sadness on earth.”

- Fyodor Dostoevsky

Dostoevsky was a very deep writer who possessed interesting thoughts to say the least. He was the precursor to the nineteenth century philosophical movement called Existentialism. I find him to be a very gritty and messy writer but he is without a doubt the most passionate writer I’ve ever read. He’s truly a rare breed because although he may lack aesthetic direction in his prose he can write very deeply. In short Dostoevsky is a true writer because he understood what it meant to be a human being; he understood what it meant to truly suffer. Dostoevsky is regarded as one the greatest literary psychologists to have ever lived, his books often explore the dark side of the human psyche. With Dostoevsky we can explore ourselves and question who we are. Through his writings we gaze into the eyes of our darkest demons.
